ISBP

Learn why document-checking practice cannot be understood from UCP article headings alone.

What ISBP is

International Standard Banking Practice gives detailed guidance on how documents are examined under UCP 600. It helps explain practical issues that arise with invoices, transport documents, certificates and other presentations.

Why beginners need it

A credit may contain only a few words about a document, while banking practice determines how many common details are treated.

Not a replacement for the credit

The actual LC terms and UCP remain central. ISBP helps interpret examination practice; it does not allow a document to ignore an express credit requirement.

Current edition

Use the current ICC publication relied on by the banks involved. MyGreed avoids hard-coding proprietary rule text.
